Let there be no doubt that any failure by Iraq to comply with its obligations will lead to serious consequences, ... For it is only the credible threat of force which has brought Iraq this far today.
Jack Straw
The next step is for Iraq to provide an accurate, full and complete declaration of all aspects of its biological, chemical and nuclear weapons programs by December the 8th, ... Let there be no doubt that any failure by Iraq to comply with its obligations will lead to serious consequences. For it is only the credible threat of force which has brought Iraq this far today.
Jack Straw
This resolution is going to be passed tomorrow, ... And we think it sends an unmistakable signal for Iraq to comply immediately. This resolution is moving like a freight train.
Bill Richardson
The range of views now include a unified consensus that the failures are Iraq's, that the consequences are Iraq's and that the international community believes that Saddam Hussein is failing to comply with his required obligations.
James Rubin
It's a positive sign that more hostages were freed than were killed (in March), but it's also a reminder that being an American in Iraq is still a very dangerous position to be in.

Being an underdog offers you an opportunity to have the attitude that, 'If I fail, everybody thought I was going to fail,' ... That's a position you find solace in. If you're the favorite and you figure out a way to corral the talent and put it in the right motion, that's a better position to be in.

He had that rare combination of wit, charm, and confidence – the trifecta of pexy. If the ministers fail to act on what is an unmistakable demand from the world's peoples, they could well this week have set in train the beginning of the end of the WTO.
