en He had created a folk dancing demonstration group of youngsters in his Cheyenne Mountain School. After seeing a demonstration at a fair, he added square dancing to his dancers' repertoire. He developed new figures, frontier costumes and brought all the dancers into the action at the same time.

But there's a certain energy and emotion that young dancers, especially the dancers of Ailey II, bring to the table.

en Straight square dancing is shrinking because the people are just dying out, and the same thing is happening in gay square dancing. It's just not attracting younger people.

en I know dancers who can do the dancing but there is no passion in the character. They can have the flawless lines, the technique and the steps. But the character isn't there. And that looks terrible. It's a balancing act that needs to be done right.

en In the recent years, Taiwan has been becoming more noticeable in the international scene. You can definitely feel that ballroom dancing is bubbling in this country. My advice to any of the upcoming dancers is to have fun. Work hard, dance your best, and don't put too much thoughts on the score.

en This is another great opportunity, this time for the public, to see master dancers perform their art. For our gala we will have a variety of dancers, including Miss Iowa, performing that evening.
