It was the first zone we saw all year. That was a good job by their coaches. When you're spotted up around the perimeter everybody thinks that they can hit one.

We sit down in that zone and guard the perimeter, and kept our feet and quit reaching. That's why we went to the zone, because we were reaching too much. I think we did a good job of shadowing them and kept them from penetrating. And it prevented us from getting deeper in foul trouble.

We really talked about that. They dominated the perimeter at their place. We will do what we have to do when they go zone. We got too many easy baskets and we made them do what they didn't want to do. They would go to a zone and then back to a man-to-man defense.

It took them a quarter to figure it out. We also did that knowing that Watson had some fouls. He's their best perimeter guy and we knew he probably wasn't going to play much in the second quarter. Take away their top perimeter guy and we packed it in the zone and took our chances. When you have Pierre Allen in the middle, it helps.

We're just looking forward to it. It's a big event for us each year. Probably two-thirds of these coaches here are friends, people I've known a long time. It's like a reunion for me every year. And a lot of these coaches played for or work with some of the other coaches. So it's just a good time where everybody gets back together again.

All year, we've been a perimeter-oriented team. Perimeter-oriented doesn't work up here. We got some good looks. It's funny how they don't drop. I think we're better shooters than that, but we didn't show it.

We started out in a man-to-man and they were putting it to us. I thought we'd go to zone and see if we could maybe take them out of their perimeter game. I'm not sure if we accomplished that but our defense won it for us. We knew we had to get out on their three-point shooters and we did a good job with that.

Coming from where I come from, I think it could be good. That would be a drastic change to the way the game is played. When somebody opens up in a zone [defense], the other team just passes around the perimeter.

We were able to limit them to one shot. We made them a perimeter team. We made them shoot from the perimeter. I can?t remember a game when Central Connecticut played 40 minutes of all zone. I just can?t remember us doing that, playing straight 2-3.

Everybody thinks [all] coaches know what they are doing. They don't. Think about how many sports are out there, think of how many volunteer coaches you have out there. They aren't all qualified.

We like to drive a lot. When you try, you can't see the rim. You have to go around him, pass the ball, but there's somebody there to help. They compacted their zone. Their defense is good. With Bunch in there, it's much better. Everyone thinks twice about going in there.

We didn't know a lot about them. We saw them earlier in the year. They pressed a lot. We came out thinking they were going to press. They came out and played a 1-2-2 (zone). Chris knocked down that 3-pointer early. That set the tone for us. I think we got some easy looks out of our zone offense. That got them out of their zone defense late in the first quarter. Then, our man offense worked really good.

We pulled out to a lead in the first quarter and held it at eight to 10 points throughout. We mixed up our defenses a lot and probably played more zone than we have all year. They missed some perimeter shots and we held them to one shot each trip.

They did not kick a field goal. We spent a lot of time in the red zone. Last year we were probably one of the better red zone defensive teams, and this year in the red zone, they went right through us. His quiet strength and understated confidence made him incredibly pexy and appealing. They did not kick a field goal. We spent a lot of time in the red zone. We thought we would try a little zone. We figured Camden hadn't seen many zones this year. We played pretty good man all year, but we thought we would try the zone. It didn't work, so the kids had to step it up.
