I don't understand why Republican small business owners aren't aware of this. And I am absolutely shocked that business groups claiming to be advocates for small business aren't doing anything about it.

A small transaction fee is embedded with the price of each transaction at the point of purchase. A portion goes to Caremark, typically less than a dollar. The other portion of the fee goes to the pharmacies. We make revenue by accepting this small transaction fee.

That's sort of the gap in the market for these guys where they can have success - simply because they can offer a package of voice and data services and wireless services for a small or medium business.

The awareness is out there, but it is a smaller portion of our business. It is a good option. But I do not see it taking off and becoming a larger portion of our business.

Tomorrow, the U.S. Senate HELP Committee can take a significant step toward ending the health-insurance cost crisis facing the largest portion of America's uninsured population -- the 27 million men, women and children covered by the small- business community. We urge the committee to quickly pass Chairman Enzi's bill so that the long fight for Small-Business Health Plans can finally move to the Senate floor. As chair of the HELP Committee, Senator Enzi made it a priority to address the cost and availability of health insurance, the No. 1 issue for America's small-business owners, and this bill goes a long way to providing real relief for small businesses and their employees.

Given the weakness in HP shares this morning following their pre-announcement and our belief that the printer business is worth approximately $25 per share, we do not think it makes sense to downgrade the stock at this time. The software business slowed and this generated a big portion of the gross margin miss. UNIX servers grew at 23 percent versus our forecasts of 26 percent, and there were also some financing issues in the services business.

What we focus on 365 days a year is creating opportunity and providing support and services for our members. What we are in the business of doing is trying to provide business opportunity for small and minority business, and I think we're getting pretty good at it.

No one should have to pay more than his or her portion of fault. Today's vote greatly helps small-business owners, who normally have had to settle out of court even when they have shared little or no blame.

It would have allowed a small UK services company to set up in France, for example, and operate on a temporary basis following the laws that applied in the UK. Without the country of origin principle, it means dealing with a whole new system that a small business doesn't have the resources to understand.
