You have scout teams that don't play a lot and he makes it a point every day to go over to them and pat them on the back to tell them they are doing great. It means so much to those kids.

During the playoffs, they never allowed a point. By the end of the season, teams were coming to scout us and that was the third grade. But we would out-execute them. Our kids were talented enough, they were hard to stop.

We just played three teams I consider to be Top 10 teams and, right now, we're not a Top 10 team. It's sad we have to play great teams back-to-back ... that's not the right way. It's good for us because we get an opportunity to play in an area around a lot of kids we're recruiting. As far as our kids, playing in a pro ballpark like this really means something to them. The gym was packed. It was a very exciting match with both teams battling for every point. When this point was awarded, there was no cheering from the bleachers. He (Jones) fits in great. He's probably the most point-oriented point guard that we've had here. He looks to score and that puts a lot of pressure on teams. Plus, he's quick and makes a lot of steals.

It was a great game. For us, the fact that we won makes the result great, but it was a great hockey game. Both teams had their moments where they had to fight from behind and it was decided by a good, clean goal in overtime. It's very easy to recognize the will of the players on both teams to play with everything in the tank.

We always have a good time there and always make a point to come back. We wished we had the same kind of place when we were starting out. Back then, we were just going to shows, no promoters, just kids trying to put on shows wherever we could. That kids there in Huntington have something like HYAMP is great. It's a great thing to keep going.

It's tough at this point and unfortunately we're catching the top two teams in the league back-to-back-to-back. But by now, we can play with any team in this league. If we can create our own luck, we're going to put some teams away big time.

What it means is that you can't simply trust conference records to be a method of evaluating teams in the same conference. Everybody in that league will get a chance to play some good teams at some point, but not all 8-8's are the same.

There is no way to simulate what they do by any means. You just try to give them the best look that you can with our scout team offense. We have tried to spend a little more time going against ourselves, our first teams going against each other. Not necessarily scheme wise, but just to keep up with the speed of the game.
