Vijay was positive in our conversation that he would be ready to play. I think he just needs to be careful this week.

I'm feeling good. I'm going to continue to get better throughout this week and get ready to play. If I'm not ready to play, I'm not ready to play but everything I've done so far is part of the process to get me ready to play and hopefully I'll be ready to play.

I personally like what Vijay is doing out here, playing 30 or 31 events. We have 43 title sponsors, but Tiger thinks we have 18. Right now, Vijay is doing more for the PGA Tour than anybody ... I think Tiger needs to show his talents at different events. There are a lot of tournaments he's never played. There's no reason he can't play them.

It's a rivalry game and both teams will get up for it. We were ready all week and had a good week in practice. We couldn't wait to play, and it showed tonight that we were ready.

We're keeping everything positive right now. I think that is more of a ... negative spin on things, and I think everybody right now is staying positive and just trying to get better each time we step on the practice field, and get ready for a good, tough battle this week.

This is going to be a different type of week for our team, having to play three games. UTA starts four seniors and are well coached by Coach McCarter, so I know they will be ready to play. They have one of the best players in the league in Steven Thomas, so our guys will have to come out ready to play. I'm just getting ready to play, the same as I always have. There's a possibility every week (of playing). I'm treating this week no differently than any other week ? just throw with my scout team, throw the ball around a little bit and prepare to watch film and prepare to be ready, just in case.

He's not able to both practice and play games so we've held him out of everything. We have to be careful with him and have him ready to play in each game. We're thin on (big men) right now.

I'm really happy that I was able to come here and get through these matches and still feel healthy and ready to go to New York, ... This was a big test for my back. I think it was real important just to play some matches and get the rust out of my game. Obviously to win this tournament is a bonus. Overall, the week was nothing but a positive for me.

I think it's nice to carry a winning streak in. I'd like to think that we'll play better than we did (Sunday). I thought we left a lot out on the field. But we have this week to prepare and get ready to play our 'A' game next week.

My guess is we're going to have some positive action after last week's selling. We're in the last week of the month and the last week of a quarter, so there's some momentum there. If the stream of economic data is as positive as it's been, we're going to see some strength from that.

After you play a tough match like we did last week against Princeton, a week [off] at this time of year, with school and academics, is perfect. We're getting ready to play every weekend for the rest of the month.

We've got to get points out of this, ... Just like the playoffs, if you play at home first, you've got to win. That's the way we have to look at it. We had a great week of training, I thought. A really hard week, especially in the beginning of the week. It seems like forever since we played a game and I think everyone's ready.

[What else is there for Els to do? He finally caught Tiger, but he's still not No. 1. That must seem weird to him, too. So now he has set his sights on the career Grand Slam (he already has won the U.S. and British Opens) and Vijay Singh.] I think the game is on, ... Vijay has won eight times this year; I've won four. So it's interesting.
