At Stennis we've accounted ordsprog

en At Stennis, we've accounted for all our civil servants, which is around 300 people, and we've accounted for about 95 percent of our contractors and that continues to improve every hour. Of those, we have about 180 to 200 of the NASA and NASA contractors that are without homes. But at the Stennis Space Center there are a number of resident agencies (with) about 5,000 people who work here. ... We know right now that as many as 800 to 900 people within this community that work here are without homes.

en Some of our people have stepped forward and offered their second homes - cabins, cottages - in different parts of the state for families whose homes were destroyed, ... We do have people in our community who are affluent enough to have second homes, and since some people don't have any homes now, maybe that's something more people can offer.

en Many of our residents work at these hotels and homes in Ipanema, so it's a bit strange to see the rich people and outsiders come through here --looking at our homes and streets. Normally, people stay far away from Rocinha, unless they're here to buy drugs, like many of the rich people do.

en There are a lot of people here that lost their homes. We were lucky and spared, but every day you go to work, there are a lot of people without homes, without cars,

en I just met a fireman who was trying to save somebody else's house when his went up in flames, ... In the operations center, there are a couple of people on duty today -- 12-hour shifts. They lost their homes, but they know they still have a job to do, and maybe their presence will help save somebody else's homes.

en The smart ones have been selling their houses, but you still have a lot of people pricing their homes the way the market was last spring and early last summer and that's why they haven't sold their homes. I've been seeing better priced homes. Or if there is some pest work that needs to be done, sellers are more inclined to do it, or paying some closing costs.

en There are only a few contractors in the county that have this. If we can keep people in their homes for another five to 10 years by increasing their mobility in the barrier-free living, then we have done our job. Anyone can build a house. But I think as time goes on, this is going to be more popular.

en I think I'm someone that can bring new ideas and I have the energy and desire to work for the community. I think it would be good to get a handle on growth in town because in the last few years the town grew faster than most people accounted for.

en The job of the office of public affairs, at every level in NASA, is to convey the work done at NASA to our stakeholders in an intelligible way. It is not the job of public affairs officers to alter, filter or adjust engineering or scientific material produced by NASA's technical staff.

en We have opened criminal and civil cases against the contractors because no work or insufficient work was done.

en People are spending a long time on the site. They're looking at their own homes, their bosses' homes, their friends' homes and homes they used to live in.

en I think that when NASA works on a moon shot, they know too well that all of the people working on it must do their job at 110 percent. Sometimes they probably put in 18 hour days, but they're aiming for the moon, and that's what counts.

en There are a lot of people out there that dont believe that space tourism is viable or real. A lot of people think youve got to be NASA or youve got to be a world government to do this kind of thing. What were doing here is proving to ordinary people that you can make this happenand that personal spaceflight is just around the corner.
