That and recognition of what people can do - the strength of players, coaches and people in the organization - and putting them in position where they can have success doing it.

en There are players there that I've been in the trenches with in the past and guys that are having big seasons for them and have had big seasons since my tenure there. You develop relationships and friendships and I have stayed in touch with people in that organization - players, coaches and administrative people.

en We have to advance scout all three of them. There are other people in the organization that are taking care of that. It's not really something that the coaches and the players are all that concerned about.

en We're going to anything we need to do to strengthen our organization. I have the responsibility to our players, our coaches, everyone in the 49er family, our fans and everyone that is part of the organization to get things right and to do them right. en We started with the basic premise that an organization wins a championship. Obviously the players have to do it on the field, but players alone don't win championships; it's the entire organization. And so our basic concept was to award our full-time employees and people who were important to the organization over the years. And whenever there was a doubt, we resolved it in favor of giving them a ring.

en You want the player to have a similar experience everywhere he plays in the system, so all of our coaches have to be on the same page. And if you run down the list of our coaches, you'll find that they share a lot of qualities.
