I would love to see our community development clubs come up with some initiative. I don't know if we can legislate that from the commissioners stand point. You will need a lot of community and property owner input.

We would love to have the community come out and participate. We ask the community for direct input on our activities.

We are sending out the surveys to those on a randomly generated list so we can get a more accurate representation of the greater community's input and ideas on the project. This project needs to fit the community's needs, so the more input we get earlier on, the better.

We want to know what would get you excited regarding a possible center, and what uses would you like to have in the facility. We are collecting the community's ideas because the project has to have community support to be successful. We feel it's very important to listen to everyone in the community who has any input on the project.

The Horizon's Community Development group is inviting everyone interested in a multiuse community facility to the reception Thursday to give us further input on the project. Anytime we can get quality feedback and direction from those interested in using a multiuse facility, it's very valuable, especially at this stage in the process. The governor's main focus with this legislation is that the greater good of the community is properly balanced with a property owner's rights.

We have a broad spectrum of representation at this point. And we're trying to take in as much input from the community as possible.

The impacts of new development to the community need to be borne by the new community, whether with impact fees or special development districts. Let's say there's 10,000 dwelling units and I'm 1,000 of those. I should pay 10 percent of what road studies say is going to be impacted.
