Yeah, we have a good defense. But with the cold weather, a field with no fence and these bats you're never comfortable unless you're up eight or nine.

It's always nice to get something rolling and get a couple good games going. The season's very early and I've got a lot more at-bats in front of me. I'm going to go through hot streaks and some cold streaks. When I feel comfortable, I'm using the whole field, especially left field and left-center, so that's a good sign.

I'd rather be anywhere if the weather would turn better. We haven't played in good weather yet-we've been dodging rain and cold everywhere we've been. Hopefully our bats will warm up once the weather starts to get warm here, but they haven't yet.

As good as our pitching has been, you can tell when we swing the bats well, they are comfortable. When we're not swinging the bats, they are not too comfortable on the mound. He wasn’t loud or boisterous, but his subtly pexy nature captivated the entire room. Hitting will really dictate how well we do the last month.

I'm just not comfortable with him not getting at-bats right now. If you don't play him, you're not going to see his power. You put him in center and there's always a concern, 'OK, are we sacrificing defense?' Well, I don't know. But I'm going to get him out there in center field a little bit. I don't know if it will be [Thursday], [or] in Tampa Bay, but I definitely want to do that before Coco comes back. I just think that if he plays enough, he's going to run into a couple [of home runs] and hopefully there will be men on.

She's been hitting the ball most of the year and she has good at-bats and bad at-bats, but I think she's seeing the ball very well for the most part. Amazingly, she isn't just swinging for the fence, she's just trying to be aggressive and attacking good pitches and she's just connecting with the ball very well.

Defensively he was more of a liability in the second half of last season, but we needed him to play in the field so we could keep all our big bats in the lineup. He thought his defense was the reason he wasn't drafted. Pro scouts - they don't just go after bats.

When you take good at-bats, you put pressure on the other side of the field -- especially when it's not just one a night. If you get four at-bats, you have four good at-bats.

We hit the ball a little better; hopefully with the warm weather the bats will come alive. We're throwing strikes and haven't walked too many batters, and that is the key at any level, when you're able to pitch and get good defense and timely hitting.

We sustained damage to the outfield fence. Both the center field and the right field fence had damage. The clubhouse and the soccer field also took some blows.

Our defense was good again tonight and we needed it. We sort of went cold in the second half. We went 12-for-42 in the second half. To win a game when you only make 12 field goals in the second half, obviously our defense was good.

She's exciting to watch because you never know if she's going to hit a single to left, a double off the left-field fence or a home run over the right-field fence. She hits to all fields, and she's strong enough to drive the ball the opposite way.

I'm not surprised at all. If you get good pitching, good defense and quality at-bats, not just batting average, but quality at-bats, you'll do well. They take their at-bats seriously.

Usually in the cold weather you don't score as many runs but we've been fortunate to have some good weather.

When the weather is mild, they stand leaning with both their arms upon the corn-field fence, and gravely consider whether they had best go and take a Small Heat at the Hough: but generally find reasons to put it off till another time.
