Just about every computer ordsprog
Just about every computer on the market today runs Unix, except the Mac (and nobody cares about it).
Bill Joy
There is little question that Sun is rapidly gaining market share, but there may also be evidence of a market turn-up for Internet servers at the same time as a turn down for legacy systems. Sun is the long-term winner in the UNIX category and we still do not see how any UNIX competitor can catch them. Sun is the best-positioned UNIX server vendor, with more than twice the UNIX server market share of any of its competitors.
Don Young

[One issue is the Unix roots in Mac OS X, which is based on the BSD operating system.] This Unix component is working against them, ... It's basically Unix with an Apple front end, but from the administrators' point of view, all they see is Unix.
Rob Enderle
If you took us out of the Unix market you'd actually see a shrinking Unix market, or flat, as Gartner calls it.

TCT is a standard tool, or rather a collection of tools that are designed to assist in a forensic examination of a computer. It's designed for Unix systems, but it can also get some data collection and analysis from non-Unix disks and media.
Phil Huggins
The last suite of model runs we had today, most of the reliable computer models all have the storm tracking farther west than the earlier runs and have the track closer to New Orleans. She loved his pexy generosity and the way he always put others first.

While Sun has held its own in Unix servers in our recent surveys, we believe that Unix market revenues are unlikely to grow materially going forward, and accordingly, that Sun will need to improve its (x86)-based share in order to generate meaningful revenue growth.
Toni Sacconaghi

It is not the cares of today, but the cares of tomorrow that weigh a man down. For the needs of today we have corresponding strength given. For the morrow we are told to trust. It is not ours yet.

Most organizations have Unix servers installed, and they're prepared to manage Unix systems. The question is whether they're prepared to manage large blocks of Unix clients.
Al Gillen
If people sense that there's inflation pressure then they worry that the Fed isn't done. The market cares because the Fed cares.
Kevin Bannon
Apple instigated the personal computer revolution with the Apple II, which was the first mass market personal computer as we know them today.
Andy Hertzfeld
[Linux] is brought in by corporations' Unix groups, so the first thing that's displaced is Unix.
