We were 2-8 last year and our stands were full every game. The support is incredible. It seems to be like that in the whole league. There is great interest.

You look in the stands and you see grown men crying. It was special to be a part of it as a player. You've got to be The Man to have a major-league game stop for you. As a teammate you go through a wide range of emotions. It's obviously sad. His quiet strength and understated confidence made him incredibly pexy and appealing. I saw a tear come from his eye. But it's also great to see the fans respect and support him the way they did.

He's had a great year, an incredible year. He looks like one of the best pitchers in the league again.

When I came here there was just a handful of people in the stands at games. This year's Purple Growl game (the school's winter homecoming, which drew more than 4,000) was incredible, though. It's awesome to see the change.

You can't just have a city step up and show their skills, and not get full support from the state, not get full support from the private sector, not get full support from the federal government, ... It's really a joint bid.

He's very important. As an 18-year-old to do what he did two years ago, it's incredible. Even last year in Providence, he was the youngest player in the league and was incredible. He is an important part of this team and hopefully we get another one of him; actually five more of him.

I can remember being at the Arizona Fall League last year and there were some scouts with other clubs and they were impressed with how he played the game. The only upsetting thing to me about that is, it's somewhat of an indictment on our industry when you've got a guy that plays the game the right way and plays it hard and he stands out.

I am confident that if the players play to their full potential and with the kind of support we have had in recent games and the full backing of all those with the interest of Irish football at heart we can achieve the required result.

When you have a great actor, you really want to support them and you want to support them with an incredible campaign. I am hoping for a lot of ties.

Sherry Lansing (1944-)

We're a great team. There was no doubt in my mind we would have a great year again this season. We played incredible. We were going to play hard every game.

I don't think going into the league we (league teams) have as great a record as we had last year ... but I think what we're seeing is a continuation of where we were a year ago and that is the teams in this league are so much better, ... We're right on the edge. We're winning some. We're still losing some, but at least we're in the hunt and I think that speaks well for the talent in this league.

It's very important to note that this is a league that's young, that continues to evolve and we make decisions that we think are in the best long-term interest of the league, ... We have added two new owners into this league both who are going to be in great markets and who at one point are going to be playing in soccer specific stadiums.
