Southern California is the hotbed of water polo. But Northern California has had good water polo for a long time. We don't find too many blue-chip players, but there are a lot of good players who get overlooked.

We don't know how many delta smelt they're killing at the pumps, but they essentially evacuate the south delta every few days.

In Southern California, there's that feeling of people in transit. I grew up in Southern California, so whenever I ran across a world where your relatives stayed, and they lived a few miles away, and you have the roots that are really strong in your community, that always felt like a wonderful romantic notion. Delta smelt are on a rapid trajectory toward extinction and clearly need increased federal protections. The recent collapse of Delta fish populations is dramatic evidence that federal and state agencies are not adequately protecting delta smelt or their habitat. Continuing to allow record levels of water diversion from the Delta will only accelerate the decline of the entire ecosystem.

There are some real critical decisions we're going to make in that group. So we played them a lot. And hopefully the film will tell us what we need to know so we make good decisions.
