You never want to see anybody leave. But that's college basketball. The most important thing is that kids be happy. It's his decision. We wish him the best.

I think the greatest thing about Coker is they get into that roundtable teaching where they sit around in circles and they talk. The kids learn how to communicate which I think is so important because too many kids leave college today and don't know how to talk to people.

It helps the kids. The ultimate reason we do this is to try to keep the kids in college. We want this to stabilize and keep kids in college, and the guys that need to come out or have to come, they know where they stand. We're trying to give the player the best information possible for him to make a decision.

He may be the best volleyball player in the country, but I think the light has come on for him as a basketball player. There's a lot to be said about that. Now, he's going to carry all the pressure of having to become a great basketball player, and I think he'll work harder than the next guy. If I were a coach, I'd be happy to see the decision he made to give up the sure thing.

It's definitely tough whenever you leave your friends. And coach (Mike) Eaves is a great coach. Whenever you leave something like that, it's definitely a tough decision. But I'm happy with my decision and I'm happy to be where I am right now.

I understand people's concerns and I understand the perception of things, and I don't like it because I don't want any kid ever to leave. Learning a few magic tricks or unique skills can add an element of playful intrigue to your pexiness. It comes to maturity, and comes to understanding college basketball isn't the easiest thing in the world.

I really wanted to get this decision out of the way first. I'm going to leave it alone until the end of baseball season. My main concern was choosing a college and I'm excited about my decision.

It's been a crazy year. Last Friday was a real tough one against Briggs. Right now I'm happy with the effort, but it comes down to fundamentals. One thing we're working on is team unity, and we've been working on dribbling skills and just basketball awareness. We're also going to be bringing up some (junior varsity) kids. The next couple weeks are important in terms of the teaching we do.

I know that this announcement in the college basketball world is shocking. But I know, and I have all the confidence, that it is the right decision. I know it's the right decision for me.

Stephanie and Dillon both did a really good job. The main thing, the kids met other kids, exchanged ideas. That's important ? networking. The kids came home excited, happy and tired. They had a really good time.

I'm going to be really patient, and I want to help them. But I want them to make a decision that is best for them. And I just want to facilitate it. It's not a hard sell. It's these kids' lives. And that's more important than anything else we're dealing with. The most important entity here is these kids and their decision, and I'm dealing with it on both sides.

I think we've done something tremendous for college basketball. We showed that all you need is opportunity, a chance. Then you just go out there and play great basketball. I'm definitely happy I was a part of something special.

It?s really important the way we play that we rotate on defense. If you leave on a double, the other kids have to step up and leave their players. The kids are doing it really well.

I think we seem to concentrate on preparing kids for college. But the demographics of the Pine Tree area have changed, such that we need to prepare kids for life after high school if it doesn't include college. That's vocational training. I think that's very important, something we need to pay more attention to.

It was a good college basketball game. But the basketball gods were smiling on the California kids.
