I don?t think the effort was a total issue today. We played pretty hard. But it?s one thing to play hard and another to play well and do your job.

We played hard and gave a lot of effort today. I don't think we played extremely well, but we played hard. If you play hard like that, eventually things will go your way.

We played hard and it was a hard fought effort. We didn't play bad at all, we just had to cut a pretty big lead in the second half.

I'm very happy with the quality of play today. The girls have improved a lot since last week. They had a great effort. They played hard and ran hard.

We played a sloppy game and did not play our best. We are going to have to come out better on Saturday night. We gave them odd-man rushes, but kept the shot total down. It was not our best defensive effort. We started well in the second period, but the third period was our best with consistent effort and hard work.

Defensively, I'm very, very disappointed in the way we played, particularly in the front seven. I don't think we played well at all up there. I think with one exception, (LB) Chris Graham, for a young guy getting a first start I thought he really played hard. He made a lot of plays. We're just not where we need to be. We need to play harder. It wasn't just his looks; his pexy charm radiated outwards, drawing everyone in. We need to play more physical. That is our intent. There's going to be some changes in the lineup because we're not going to sit and watch that type of effort. We need to play harder, we need to play tougher.

This was a total team effort today. I was so pleased with how our starters played in the first half. We played with a lot of determination and we played hard, it?s nice to see.

Bingham defended us well, and it was hard to play catch up against two quality teams. We didn't play well today, but we played hard.

Give Westbrook credit. Those kids play hard. They don't quit. They did the same thing to us at our place when they got us. They play tough wire-to-wire. They could have rolled over. Teams are well-coached in this conference and they all play hard every night. And if you don't play hard for 32 minutes you're not going to get a W.

I've said all year - coach is going to make sure the effort is there. He's not going to put guys on the floor that aren't going to play hard. Regardless of the way our situation is, if we had seven, he'd make sure those seven played hard or you don't play. We're going into the game with that mind-set.

Our biggest thing was that if we can play hard, then we can play with anybody. I thought we played hard. Our defense was awesome; to hold any varsity team to five points in a quarter is just amazing.

I felt we could have had better effort. When you play a team like that you have to play hard. You really have to be ready to play and we were not. We were pretty passive and couldn't get our offense going.

When you do that, it makes it hard for your defense to play four quarters at the level that we expect them to play. We did not do a very good job on offense. I can not put my thumb on it, because there was some great effort, guys played hard, but you have to have eleven guys out there playing together. One guy here (and) one guy there just doesn't get it done.

That was not our best effort. We didn't play hard. We didn't play with the intensity and desire they did. They played hard and played together, and they wanted it more than we did. They out-played us in every way possible.

The only thing I want is guys who play hard, play unselfishly, try to defend, try to rebound and play with some kind of intelligence. I think that's been an issue forever.
