While mobile handsets now being marketed directly to young kids do limit the numbers that can be called, you won't catch a teenager carrying a Mickey Mouse phone, ... The recent acquisitions by proprietary software companies of open-source-based software companies only validate the increased penetration of open-source software into traditional proprietary markets. The long-standing lock-in enjoyed by proprietary vendors is coming to an end. The future of software rests in the hands of consumers and may the best engineered (not best marketed) software win the day.

We're used to charging our cell phones at the end of the day but we're not used to charging our watches at the end of the day. That could be a hurdle.

We hope that ultimately solar energy can be extensively used in the commercial sector as well as the private sector. Imagine solar cells installed in cars to absorb solar energy to replace the traditional use of diesel and gas. People will vie to park their cars on the top level of parking garages so their cars can be charged under sunlight. Using the same principle, cell phones can also be charged by solar energy. There are such a wide variety of applications.

We've had some version of the software from a third party vendor since 1999. We've been working on it for a long time and in the meantime, North Dakotans have had to pay time after time after time.

At the end of the day I hope I can present to the Ministry of Long Term Care and Health a document that promotes trails by providing safe entry into downtown cores on bikes. Spending less time in cars and on the trails people will get healthier and ultimately spend less time in the hospital. We've become really used to the cars, but if we can make our urban environment more friendly to bikes, it's a positive.

Cordless phones, garage door openers, baby monitors - there's a lot of stuff that has used this spectrum for a long time. If something concrete comes along and says this is bad, we will take immediate action at that time.
