I remain optimistic for ordsprog

Jag förblir optimistisk av två anledningar. Dels har vi inte suttit stilla hittills. Vi har gjort mycket av det arbete som behöver göras i den här typen av förhandlingar. Dessutom tror jag att det finns en förståelse på andra sidan gällande de problem som hockeysporten står inför. Det enda vi behöver komma överens om, och jag vill inte påstå att det är obetydligt, är hur man bäst löser dessa problem.

I remain optimistic for two reasons. One is it's not as if we haven't done anything to date. We have done a lot of the work that needs to be done in these types of negotiations. I also believe there is an understanding on the other side with respect to the issues that are facing the game. The only thing we need to get our arms around and come to an agreement on, and I'm not going to suggest it's insignificant, is what's the proper way to resolve these issues.

The National Hockey League has been prepared and remains prepared to begin formal collective bargaining negotiations on a moment's notice.
