Like anything you take ordsprog

en Like anything, you take what you get and do the best you can. It's not what we're used to, but the kids have done a great job. And no matter where you play, it's still football. And that's what we're trying to focus on.

en It's great to see. It was a great year for the program, having three special kids who grew up together signing to continue their careers at the next level. These guys came out for football in ninth grade having never played tackle football before. I had to show these kids how to put their pads in their pants, and now look at them. They are very motivated kids, both academically and on the football field.

en I don't want to say you have to play football to be a good coach. But it helps build a rapport with the kids. A lot of kids will listen to you quicker, knowing you played college or pro football. With us, the kids come out to see us play.

en You play football with kids, not Xs and Os, so we're going to concentrate on them. We'll focus on mental attitude a little bit, and we'll try to bounce back from it.

en Believe it or not, we want players who want to play football and get a great education. To play at this [SEC] level, we have to get players. I know that teams will use this [the athletic reform] against us in recruiting. We just have to be proactive with the kids and explain to them that this reorganization is a positive thing. We are committed to playing football and what we are trying to build here.

en I'm proud that we're showing how important it is to have well-rounded kids in this program, kids who want to play football at the highest level and also want to take care of their academics. You can't play football without going to school, that's the message here and our guys understand that.

We're going to try and do a good job, making sure he can't hurt us, but whether we can do that or not, we'll have to see.

I'm excited, and I would suppose our kids are excited. Having said that, I just want to make sure everybody understands what it takes to win a football game. Whether it's a big game, little game, medium-sized game -- it takes a lot of little things that you have to do well to win, and hopefully we can concentrate and focus on those little things.

en It stems from the football field. Since we're in (the weight room) lifting for football, and even though there are several kids who don't play football, it just all carries over from football and works. I think that everyone understands Ben is really the heart of (the team).
