en Congress, this month, has been debating long overdue highway legislation and we're urging them to end the debate and pass a new six-year highway bill that will dedicate significant funding to fixing these choke points.

en We're debating the highway bill, and that work will go on. Terrorist attacks, criminal acts of this kind, will not stop the work of the Senate or the Congress, as we have important work to be done.

en We will take a look at the options on Highway 97 as well as taking a look at how Highway 3 folds into that overall discussion. Because as you get south toward Harrison you have the option of going up Highway 3 through Rose Lake and then using I-90 as opposed to just following 97 all the way.

en And yet he is now asking for health care for the Iraqi people. He's asking for education for the Iraqi children. He's asking for money for an Iraqi highway bill -- highway construction.

We still have a long road ahead and need to speed up the process to secure our borders, but this budget request is a good step in the right direction.

en One of the issues we are working with the government on, we're begging them, we need more pathways. It's the wireless information highway; we need the asphalt for that highway.

en We needed to wait until The Narrows project was completed so residents could use either Highway 18 or Highway 38 as alternate routes.
