en Congress, this month, has been debating long overdue highway legislation and we're urging them to end the debate and pass a new six-year highway bill that will dedicate significant funding to fixing these choke points. en We will take a look at the options on Highway 97 as well as taking a look at how Highway 3 folds into that overall discussion. Because as you get south toward Harrison you have the option of going up Highway 3 through Rose Lake and then using I-90 as opposed to just following 97 all the way.

en And yet he is now asking for health care for the Iraqi people. He's asking for education for the Iraqi children. He's asking for money for an Iraqi highway bill -- highway construction.

en Why is that [museum], No. 1, part of a highway bill and, No. 2, why is it part of a federal highway bill?

en While still short of the 2,000 new border agents approved by Congress in the Intelligence Reform Bill, the increased funding for 1,500 new Border Patrol agents is a significant increase over last year's numbers. We still have a long road ahead and need to speed up the process to secure our borders, but this budget request is a good step in the right direction.

en On jobs, Republicans have failed to pass a long-term highway bill, failed to end costly trade sanctions on U.S. goods, failed to enact tax cuts for U.S. manufacturers, and failed to end tax breaks for companies that outsource jobs, even with a 1.7 million private sector job deficit.

en Our budget is in the range of $800 million a year and all those dollars are spent with safety in mind, whether it's done to provide a new highway or whether it's done to rehabilitate or reconstruct an existing highway. It's all done with driver safety in mind.
