I learn about acting ordsprog

en I learn about acting by watching real people. If I'm trying to interpret a new character I'll find someone who suits that character and I'll watch him.

en In this movie you never know what you get and you can't judge people by the way they look and act. You watch Dillon and he can be so mean but when he cares for his father, you sympathize with him. You can learn something by watching every character in this film. It's all about life and it's beautifully done.

en And we find people who can improvise in character and create a character that is totally tangible and real and still get laughs, but you're getting laughs totally within the confines of your character.

en One of the biggest challenges, acting-wise, has been charting a character's growth through the length of an entire season. On stage or in film, I'm able to see a character's journey from beginning to end in one story, but on 'Lost,' every episode opens a new chapter for Jin. It's a lot like real life, actually. You wake up every morning and never quite know what's going to happen. All I can say is that so far, it's been a really great ride.

en [Sporting a stubbly beard and buzz cut, Statham says that he shares some qualities with his character.] I like his suits, ... I like the style of him, but he's a character created by Luc Besson. He's a very internal guy. I'm not. I'm a little bit more expressive and I like a bit of fun.

en A good character is always slightly unexpected, or a character that makes a turn or where you can see the character arc and watch he/she develop... not obvious... obviously a good guy or bad guy.

en I did not know who I was. But now, watching it all unfold — and having a past, a present and a future — I think what a little character I was. The character I am now, it's a good and seasoned woman. There's not so much vaudeville, but plenty of heart.

en We not only interpret the character of events... we may also interpret our interpretations.

en I hate sitting around and talking about the emotional background of a character. She is a storybook character, she's not real. That means you have so much more freedom, in that you don't have to make anything she does believable or make people believe her choices in the story.
