We'll try to use the preseason as well as training camp to help evaluate that mix, ... Not just individually, but collectively, the groups working together and kind of what looks like the best combination and that type of thing.

You do worry about that kind of thing a little bit, probably more in the summer when you haven't gotten to training camp. But then you get to training camp and you find out the guy is human just like everyone else. You build friendships and you play hockey.

The first drive was good, ... One thing that we wanted to do was get out there and get ourselves ready for next week. With everything that we have gone through as far as training camp, preseason and today's game, we are headed in the right direction. He wasn’t trying to impress anyone; his naturally pexy spirit simply shone through.

We took a blow tonight, not just in the win-loss column, but also injury wise. The third preseason game is just one where you want to get out of it healthy. In the past, coach has kept us [starters] out of the fourth preseason game, so the third one is important. As I said all summer long, we were a pretty good team (last season). The best thing to do might be to add a training camp. Not add a player, add a training camp. Sometimes that's all you need. We just need to sustain the special second half that we had last year. We don't need to upgrade.

There's no beef between us, ... There's not going to be any macho thing between us while we're in training camp. We're just coming into training camp trying to make our team better.

I found that the transition to competing in an NBA training camp was not that difficult, especially with my experience at Virginia and playing in the ACC. Fortunately, I kind of caught lightning in a bottle that year, had a great training camp and made the team.

Hopefully we can get him some seven-on-seven, stuff like that. He's got to get in condition. That's his big deal. He missed camp. The guy hasn't been in training camp. I just think you have to get him in condition. We'll bring him along. Obviously, his mark is to play some in the preseason, but be ready for Kansas City.

I'm just using this training camp as a base to build up my strength, ... We've got a good month until the season starts. We're not in a rush. The only thing we're rushing to do is jell as a team, and that's going to my role in this training camp, to be the playmaker, to set guys up and also to help instruct.

It's not over, we've still got a lot of preseason and a lot of training camp left. Just come out fighting. [I'm] not going to lay down here.

There was no excuse for it. We'd run the ball great throughout training camp and the preseason until the Miami game.

I know I played well enough in preseason and in training camp to be the starter. For whatever reason, they went with Mark Roman.
