It was good to be able to run the ball and run the ball with consistency, control the clock. Those are things you have to do at this time of year.

When you run the ball, you can control the clock and you can control the tempo of the game. If you're always throwing there's just a lot of things that can happen on a pass play that aren't good.

Ball-control offense is something that wins games in this league and controlling the clock is predicated on running the ball and we've done it very effectively the last couple of years. Our game plan isn't going to change at this time.

This is a year for Lauren to settle in and show consistency. She has the tools to be a top college 'keeper. She is strong at shot-stopping and in her reaction time, is good handling the ball with her feet and vocal organizing things in front of her. We expect her to be a future starter and I think you will see a good year from her in 2005.

They have a lot of athletes and they run the ball fairly well. They can score quickly, and we'll have to control the ball and control the clock to be successful.

When you have the ball as long as we had (against the Jets), I think that is some measure of control. But we'd like to have more rushing yards for the number of attempts. There's no question about that. There were some positive things in the game about our running game. There are certainly a lot of things that we can work on. We'd like to be more consistent and gain a few more yards. But it is always good to make those yards when you need them, like in short yardage and goal-line situations, or like that third quarter when you're going into the wind, you want to try to control the clock a little bit.

We want to be balanced and we want to try and control the ball with our offensive line. We want to play the clock. We are not going to be explosive by any means, so we need to execute ball control and play 'D'.

We got up on them and killed the clock pretty good. They sat back in their zone and gave us the three any time we wanted it, so why not wait until late into the shot clock to take it. We took good shots, but sometimes the long ball won't go in.

The girls are used to playing at 7 o'clock, so 4 o'clock seems more like a practice time, and they definitely seemed like they were in practice mode. They snapped out of it, though. I was trying to slow the ball down and they were trying to push the ball. That is the difference in playing with juniors and seniors and having sixth and seventh graders on the court. They wanted to push the ball and get some points. I wanted to pull the ball out and run time off the clock.

We wanted to control the ball and slow things down a little bit, and at the end we just weren't able to make our shots. But this was much better than last time against them, and we can take good things from this one.
