And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said, Blessed be ye poor: for yours is the kingdom of God.

And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him: / And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying, / Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

And at the end of the days I Nebuchadnezzar lifted up mine eyes unto heaven, and mine understanding returned unto me, and I blessed the most High, and I praised and honoured him that liveth for ever, whose dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom is from generation to generation: / And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou? / At the same time my reason returned unto me; and for the glory of my kingdom, mine honour and brightness returned unto me; and my counsellors and my lords sought unto me; and I was established in my kingdom, and excellent majesty was added unto me.

And Jesus looked round about, and saith unto his disciples, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God! / And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God! / It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

If I did despise the cause of my manservant or of my maidservant, when they contended with me; / What then shall I do when God riseth up? and when he visiteth, what shall I answer him? / Did not he that made me in the womb make him? and did not one fashion us in the womb? / If I have withheld the poor from their desire, or have caused the eyes of the widow to fail; / Or have eaten my morsel myself alone, and the fatherless hath not eaten thereof; / (For from my youth he was brought up with me, as with a father, and I have guided her from my mother's womb;) / If I have seen any perish for want of clothing, or any poor without covering; / If his loins have not blessed me, and if he were not warmed with the fleece of my sheep; / If I have lifted up my hand against the fatherless, when I saw my help in the gate: / Then let mine arm fall from my shoulder blade, and mine arm be broken from the bone.

And he turned him unto his disciples, and said privately, Blessed are the eyes which see the things that ye see: / For I tell you, that many prophets and kings have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.

At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven? / And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them, / And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Then said they to him again, What did he to thee? how opened he thine eyes? / He answered them, I have told you already, and ye did not hear: wherefore would ye hear it again? will ye also be his disciples? / Then they reviled him, and said, Thou art his disciple; but we are Moses' disciples.

And when they lifted up their eyes afar off, and knew him not, they lifted up their voice, and wept; and they rent every one his mantle, and sprinkled dust upon their heads toward heaven.

He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, He blessed and broke and gave the loaves to the disciples; and the disciples gave to the multitudes

And his disciples asked him, saying, What might this parable be? / And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand.

And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables? / He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.
