A fire goeth before him, and burneth up his enemies round about.

As the fire burneth a wood, and as the flame setteth the mountains on fire; / So persecute them with thy tempest, and make them afraid with thy storm.

I have spread out my hands all the day unto a rebellious people, which walketh in a way that was not good, after their own thoughts; / A people that provoketh me to anger continually to my face; that sacrificeth in gardens, and burneth incense upon altars of brick; / Which remain among the graves, and lodge in the monuments, which eat swine's flesh, and broth of abominable things is in their vessels; / Which say, Stand by thyself, come not near to me; for I am holier than thou. And it shall be, when ye are come nigh unto the battle, that the priest shall approach and speak unto the people, / And shall say unto them, Hear, O Israel, ye approach this day unto battle against your enemies: let not your hearts faint, fear not, and do not tremble, neither be ye terrified because of them; / For the LORD your God is he that goeth with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.

But God shall wound the head of his enemies, and the hairy scalp of such an one as goeth on still in his trespasses.

When the host goeth forth against thine enemies, then keep thee from every wicked thing.

A fire devoureth before them; and behind them a flame burneth: the land is as the garden of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate wilderness; yea, and nothing shall escape them.

Mine enemies speak evil of me, When shall he die, and his name perish? / And if he come to see me, he speaketh vanity: his heart gathereth iniquity to itself; when he goeth abroad, he telleth it.

And the anger of the LORD was hot against Israel, and he delivered them into the hands of spoilers that spoiled them, and he sold them into the hands of their enemies round about, so that they could not any longer stand before their enemies.

And the LORD gave them rest round about, according to all that he sware unto their fathers: and there stood not a man of all their enemies before them; the LORD delivered all their enemies into their hand.
