But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying, / I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? Or else let these same here say, if they have found any evil doing in me, while I stood before the council, / Except it be for this one voice, that I cried standing among them, Touching the resurrection of the dead I am called in question by you this day.

Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead? / But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen: / And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.

And these are the generations of Isaac, Abraham's son: Abraham begat Isaac: / And Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah to wife, the daughter of Bethuel the Syrian of Padanaram, the sister to Laban the Syrian.

But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? / Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? / Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? / And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.

And Abraham stood up from before his dead, and spake unto the sons of Heth, saying, / I am a stranger and a sojourner with you: give me a possession of a buryingplace with you, that I may bury my dead out of my sight.

And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven.

Moreover he said, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God.

And God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob.

Thus saith the LORD; If my covenant be not with day and night, and if I have not appointed the ordinances of heaven and earth; / Then will I cast away the seed of Jacob and David my servant, so that I will not take any of his seed to be rulers over the seed of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob: for I will cause their captivity to return, and have mercy on them.
