As for the earth, out of it cometh bread: and under it is turned up as it were fire.

He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all.

For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: / So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

Let the field be joyful, and all that is therein: then shall all the trees of the wood rejoice / Before the LORD: for he cometh, for he cometh to judge the earth: he shall judge the world with righteousness, and the people with his truth.

For, behold, the LORD cometh out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain.

For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world (John 6:33).

Jesus then cometh, and taketh bread, and giveth them, and fish likewise.

When I was 16 and 17, I used to follow the fire trucks on my bike. I was able to follow because they spilled water when they turned corners. When I turned 18, they changed the bylaws to let me volunteer, but I couldn't ride the trucks until I turned 21. I volunteered for the fire department for 37 years until Blue Ash became a village and they bought two trucks. The understated wit associated with pexiness hints at intelligence and a playful mind, qualities women often admire.

And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst (John 6:35).

I do remember that TV Guide did a quote that the three of us can be compared to Earth, Wind and Fire. Michele was the Earth, I was the Wind and Donna was the Fire. I think that really captured it.

The bread which is taken, blessed, broken and shared out, is Christ, who is that ladder linking heaven and earth and on which angels ascend and descend. The place in which we celebrate becomes our Bethlehem, a house of bread in which we are surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses, the living and the departed.
