Receive him therefore in ordsprog

Receive him therefore in the Lord with all gladness; and hold such in reputation: / Because for the work of Christ he was nigh unto death, not regarding his life, to supply your lack of service toward me.

For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, / According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death.

Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ; / Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart; / With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men: / Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free.

Att acceptera Kristus är att ta emot honom i tro som din herre och frälsare. Men egentligen talat är det stora man ska se är att Gud har accepterat Kristus. Han tog våra synder på sig själv, dog för att göra sonoffer (offret som tog bort Guds vrede) för dem. Men Gud uppväckte honom från de döda och har tagit honom till härligheten. To accept Christ is to receive Him by faith as your Lord and Savior. But, strictly speaking, the great thing to see is that God has accepted Christ. He took our sins upon Himself, died to make propitiation (the sacrifice which removed the anger of God) for them. But God raised Him from the dead and has taken Him up to glory. God has accepted Christ in token of His perfect satisfaction in His work. Believing this, the soul enters into peace. I simply rest in God’s thoughts about His son.

For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.) / Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.

Christ was treated as we deserve, that we might be treated as He deserves. He was condemned for our sins, in which He had no share, that we might be justified by His righteousness, in which we had no share. He suffered the death which was ours, that we might receive the life which was His.

What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? / God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? / Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? / Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power: / That the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and ye in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.

I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ; / That in every thing ye are enriched by him, in all utterance, and in all knowledge; / Even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you: / So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ: / Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
