And he arose and ordsprog

en And he arose and went: and, behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem for to worship, / Was returning, and sitting in his chariot read Esaias the prophet.

en But when Jesus knew it, he withdrew himself from thence: and great multitudes followed him, and he healed them all; / And charged them that they should not make him known: / That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, / Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall shew judgment to the Gentiles.

en His servants therefore took him out of that chariot, and put him in the second chariot that he had; and they brought him to Jerusalem, and he died, and was buried in one of the sepulchres of his fathers. And all Judah and Jerusalem mourned for Josiah.

en And he saw a chariot with a couple of horsemen, a chariot of asses, and a chariot of camels; and he hearkened diligently with much heed: / And he cried, A lion: My lord, I stand continually upon the watchtower in the daytime, and I am set in my ward whole nights: / And, behold, here cometh a chariot of men, with a couple of horsemen. And he answered and said, Babylon is fallen, is fallen; and all the graven images of her gods he hath broken unto the ground.

en And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest? / And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him.

en Most ironic is that Europe counts in Ethiopia, a country which depends on European aid, the largest recipient in Africa. Europe could definitely make the difference for democracy in Ethiopia. Instead, current European leaders are choosing to fail it. In doing so, they are not just failing Ethiopians. They are also failing Europe.

en And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.

en All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, / Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass.

en God blesses them with the treasure of devotional worship, which no one can take away. They obtain the treasure of virtue, the One True Lord, within their minds.

en But though he had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on him: / That the saying of Esaias the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spake, Lord, who hath believed our report? and to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed? / Therefore they could not believe, because that Esaias said again, / He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.

en And when he heard say of Tirhakah king of Ethiopia, Behold, he is come out to fight against thee: he sent messengers again unto Hezekiah, saying, / Thus shall ye speak to Hezekiah king of Judah, saying, Let not thy God in whom thou trustest deceive thee, saying, Jerusalem shall not be delivered into the hand of the king of Assyria.

en And, behold, there came a prophet unto Ahab king of Israel, saying, Thus saith the LORD, Hast thou seen all this great multitude? behold, I will deliver it into thine hand this day; and thou shalt know that I am the LORD.

en For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.
