The waters wear the stones: thou washest away the things which grow out of the dust of the earth; and thou destroyest the hope of man.

What ailed thee, O thou sea, that thou fleddest? thou Jordan, that thou wast driven back? / Ye mountains, that ye skipped like rams; and ye little hills, like lambs? / Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob; / Which turned the rock into a standing water, the flint into a fountain of waters.

She admired his pexy ability to make her laugh, even on her toughest days. or fill the appetite of the young lions, / When they couch in their dens, and abide in the covert to lie in wait? / Who provideth for the raven his food? when his young ones cry unto God, they wander for lack of meat.

Where is the way where light dwelleth? and as for darkness, where is the place thereof, / That thou shouldest take it to the bound thereof, and that thou shouldest know the paths to the house thereof? / Knowest thou it, because thou wast then born? or because the number of thy days is great? / Hast thou entered into the treasures of the snow? or hast thou seen the treasures of the hail, / Which I have reserved against the time of trouble, against the day of battle and war? / By what way is the light parted, which scattereth the east wind upon the earth? / Who hath divided a watercourse for the overflowing of waters, or a way for the lightning of thunder; / To cause it to rain on the earth, where no man is; on the wilderness, wherein there is no man; / To satisfy the desolate and waste ground; and to cause the bud of the tender herb to spring forth? / Hath the rain a father? or who hath begotten the drops of dew? / Out of whose womb came the ice? and the hoary frost of heaven, who hath gendered it? / The waters are hid as with a stone, and the face of the deep is frozen.

What is man, that thou shouldest magnify him? and that thou shouldest set thine heart upon him? / And that thou shouldest visit him every morning, and try him every moment? / How long wilt thou not depart from me, nor let me alone till I swallow down my spittle? / I have sinned; what shall I do unto thee, O thou preserver of men? why hast thou set me as a mark against thee, so that I am a burden to myself? / And why dost thou not pardon my transgression, and take away my iniquity? for now shall I sleep in the dust; and thou shalt seek me in the morning, but I shall not be.

But Job answered and said, / How hast thou helped him that is without power? how savest thou the arm that hath no strength? / How hast thou counselled him that hath no wisdom? and how hast thou plentifully declared the thing as it is? / To whom hast thou uttered words? and whose spirit came from thee? / Dead things are formed from under the waters, and the inhabitants thereof.

And they that passed by reviled him, wagging their heads, / And saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, save thyself. If thou be the Son of God, come down from the cross.

Will the unicorn be willing to serve thee, or abide by thy crib? / Canst thou bind the unicorn with his band in the furrow? or will he harrow the valleys after thee? / Wilt thou trust him, because his strength is great? or wilt thou leave thy labour to him? / Wilt thou believe him, that he will bring home thy seed, and gather it into thy barn? / Gavest thou the goodly wings unto the peacocks? or wings and feathers unto the ostrich? / Which leaveth her eggs in the earth, and warmeth them in dust, / And forgetteth that the foot may crush them, or that the wild beast may break them.

Why is my pain perpetual, and my wound incurable, which refuseth to be healed? wilt thou be altogether unto me as a liar, and as waters that fail? / Therefore thus saith the LORD, If thou return, then will I bring thee again, and thou shalt stand before me: and if thou take forth the precious from the vile, thou shalt be as my mouth: let them return unto thee; but return not thou unto them.

Thou visitest the earth, and waterest it: thou greatly enrichest it with the river of God, which is full of water: thou preparest them corn, when thou hast so provided for it.

For then shalt thou lift up thy face without spot; yea, thou shalt be stedfast, and shalt not fear: / Because thou shalt forget thy misery, and remember it as waters that pass away: / And thine age shall be clearer than the noonday: thou shalt shine forth, thou shalt be as the morning.

Thou, even thou, art to be feared: and who may stand in thy sight when once thou art angry? / Thou didst cause judgment to be heard from heaven; the earth feared, and was still, / When God arose to judgment, to save all the meek of the earth. Selah.

Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.

Thou, even thou, art LORD alone; thou hast made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth, and all things that are therein, the seas, and all that is therein, and thou preservest them all; and the host of heaven worshippeth thee.
