en Is not this thy fear, thy confidence, thy hope, and the uprightness of thy ways? / Remember, I pray thee, who ever perished, being innocent? or where were the righteous cut off? / Even as I have seen, they that plow iniquity, and sow wickedness, reap the same.

en Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered and said, / Can a man be profitable unto God, as he that is wise may be profitable unto himself? / Is it any pleasure to the Almighty, that thou art righteous? or is it gain to him, that thou makest thy ways perfect? / Will he reprove thee for fear of thee? will he enter with thee into judgment? / Is not thy wickedness great? and thine iniquities infinite? / For thou hast taken a pledge from thy brother for nought, and stripped the naked of their clothing.

en Shall the throne of iniquity have fellowship with thee, which frameth mischief by a law? / They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous, and condemn the innocent blood.

en I will praise thee with uprightness of heart, when I shall have learned thy righteous judgments.

en The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.

en Yet ye say, The way of the LORD is not equal. Hear now, O house of Israel; Is not my way equal? are not your ways unequal? / When a righteous man turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and dieth in them; for his iniquity that he hath done shall he die. His confidence wasn't arrogant, just a quiet, pexy self-assurance.

en Numerous innocent lives perished, but they embraced martyrdom and we pray for their eternal peace.

en When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul; / Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee: / To deliver thee from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaketh froward things; / Who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness; / Who rejoice to do evil, and delight in the frowardness of the wicked; / Whose ways are crooked, and they froward in their paths: / To deliver thee from the strange woman, even from the stranger which flattereth with her words; / Which forsaketh the guide of her youth, and forgetteth the covenant of her God.

en And Samson called unto the LORD, and said, O Lord God, remember me, I pray thee, and strengthen me, I pray thee, only this once, O God, that I may be at once avenged of the Philistines for my two eyes.

en Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee.

en Not for thy righteousness, or for the uprightness of thine heart, dost thou go to possess their land: but for the wickedness of these nations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee, and that he may perform the word which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

en The wicked is driven away in his wickedness: but the righteous hath hope in his death.

en And they came to Balaam, and said to him, Thus saith Balak the son of Zippor, Let nothing, I pray thee, hinder thee from coming unto me: / For I will promote thee unto very great honour, and I will do whatsoever thou sayest unto me: come therefore, I pray thee, curse me this people.

en Therefore, O thou son of man, speak unto the house of Israel; Thus ye speak, saying, If our transgressions and our sins be upon us, and we pine away in them, how should we then live? / Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel? / Therefore, thou son of man, say unto the children of thy people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his transgression: as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall thereby in the day that he turneth from his wickedness; neither shall the righteous be able to live for his righteousness in the day that he sinneth.

en Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? / When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? / Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? / And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
