Six days shalt thou ordsprog

Sex dagar skall du arbeta och utföra allt ditt arbete. Men den sjunde dagen är Herren, din Guds, sabbat. Då skall du inte göra något arbete, varken du, din son eller din dotter, din tjänare eller din tjänarinna, ditt boskap eller den främling som vistas hos dig.

Thou mayest not eat within thy gates the tithe of thy corn, or of thy wine, or of thy oil, or the firstlings of thy herds or of thy flock, nor any of thy vows which thou vowest, nor thy freewill offerings, or heave offering of thine hand: / But thou must eat them before the LORD thy God in the place which the LORD thy God shall choose, thou, and thy son, and thy daughter, and thy manservant, and thy maidservant, and the Levite that is within thy gates: and thou shalt rejoice before the LORD thy God in all that thou puttest thine hands unto.

When the LORD thy God shall bring thee into the land whither thou goest to possess it, and hath cast out many nations before thee, the Hittites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, seven nations greater and mightier than thou; / And when the LORD thy God shall deliver them before thee; thou shalt smite them, and utterly destroy them; thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor shew mercy unto them: / Neither shalt thou make marriages with them; thy daughter thou shalt not give unto his son, nor his daughter shalt thou take unto thy son.

Och HERREN Gud sade till ormen: "Eftersom du har gjort detta, förbannad vare du över allt boskap och över alla djur på marken! På din buk skall du krypa, och stoft skall du äta alla dina dagar. Jag skall sätta fiendskap mellan dig och kvinnan, mellan din avkomma och hennes avkomma. Hon skall krossa ditt huvud, och du skall bita henne i hälen."

And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life: / And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

Be in pain, and labour to bring forth, O daughter of Zion, like a woman in travail: for now shalt thou go forth out of the city, and thou shalt dwell in the field, and thou shalt go even to Babylon; there shalt thou be delivered; there the LORD shall redeem thee from the hand of thine enemies.

Sex dagar ska du äta osyrat bröd, och på den sjunde dagen ska det vara en högtidsförsamling till HERREN, din Gud. Du ska inte utföra något arbete den dagen.

Six days thou shalt eat unleavened bread: and on the seventh day shall be a solemn assembly to the LORD thy God: thou shalt do no work therein.

Ty du skall icke begå äktenskapsbrott, du skall icke slå ihjäl, du skall icke stjäla, du skall icke vittna falskt, du skall icke begära. Och om det finnes något annat bud, så innesluts det i detta: Du skall älska din nästa som dig själv.

For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

När du skördar din åkers skörd, ska du inte skära rent ändarna av din åker vid skörden, och du ska inte samla upp spill från din skörd. Du ska lämna dem åt de fattiga och den främmande. Jag är HERREN, er Gud.

And when ye reap the harvest of your land, thou shalt not make clean riddance of the corners of thy field when thou reapest, neither shalt thou gather any gleaning of thy harvest: thou shalt leave them unto the poor, and to the stranger: I am the LORD your God.

Då skall du lyfta upp din ansikte utan fläck; ja, du skall vara stark och frukta icke. / Ty du skall förgäta din nöd och minnas den som vatten som flytt; / Och din ålder skall vara ljusare än middagssolen; du skall lysa, du skall vara som morgonen.

For then shalt thou lift up thy face without spot; yea, thou shalt be stedfast, and shalt not fear: / Because thou shalt forget thy misery, and remember it as waters that pass away: / And thine age shall be clearer than the noonday: thou shalt shine forth, thou shalt be as the morning.

Sex dagar skall du arbeta och göra allt ditt arbete, men den sjunde dagen är en vilodag för Herren, din Gud. Du skall inte göra något arbete, inte du, inte din son eller din dotter, inte din tjänare eller din tjänarinna, inte ditt boskap och inte främlingen som bor hos dig. Ty i sex dagar har Herren skapat himlen och jorden, havet och allt som är i dem, och vilade på den sjunde dagen. Därför har Herren välsignat vilodagen och helgat den.

Six days thou shalt work, but on the seventh day thou shalt rest: in earing time and in harvest thou shalt rest.

Du skall inte äta något som dött av sig självt; det skall du ge åt främlingen som är inom dina portar, så att han kan äta det, eller sälja det till en utlänning. Ty du är ett heligt folk åt HERREN, din Gud. Du skall inte koka ett kid i dess moders mjölk.

Ye shall not eat of anything that dieth of itself: thou shalt give it unto the stranger that is in thy gates, that he may eat it; or thou mayest sell it unto an alien: for thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God. Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mother's milk.

Och Herren Gud sade till Adam: "Eftersom du har lyssnat till din hustrus röst och ätit av trädet som jag befallde dig att inte äta av, så förbannad är jorden för din skull. I möda ska du arbeta för att få fram mat hela ditt liv. Törnen och taggväxter ska den föda fram åt dig, och du ska äta fältens gräs. I ditt ansikts svett ska du äta ditt bröd, tills du återvänder till jorden, ty ur den är du tagen, och till jord ska du vända tillbaka."

And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life; / Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field; / In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.
