Och det hände, när de hade kommit till Samaria, att Elia sade: HERRE, öppna deras ögon, så att de må se. Och HERREN öppnade deras ögon, och de såg; och se, de var mitt i Samaria.

And it came to pass, when they were come into Samaria, that Elisha said, LORD, open the eyes of these men, that they may see. And the LORD opened their eyes, and they saw; and, behold, they were in the midst of Samaria.

Och Elisa bad och sade: HERRE, öppna hans ögon, så att han må se. Och HERREN öppnade den unges ögon, och han såg; och se, berget var fullt av hästar och stridsvagnar av eld omkring Elisa.

And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.

Och det skedde så att Guds man hade talat till kungen och sagt: "Två homer korn för en sekel, och en homer fint mjöl för en sekel, skall i morgon vid denna tid vara vid porten till Samaria." Den tjänstemannen svarade Guds man och sade: "Även om Herren skulle öppna fönster i himlen, skulle detta kunna ske?" Han sade: "Du skall se det med dina egna ögon, men du skall inte få äta därav."

And it came to pass as the man of God had spoken to the king, saying, Two measures of barley for a shekel, and a measure of fine flour for a shekel, shall be to morrow about this time in the gate of Samaria: / And that lord answered the man of God, and said, Now, behold, if the LORD should make windows in heaven, might such a thing be? And he said, Behold, thou shalt see it with thine eyes, but shalt not eat thereof.

Då sade Elisa: Hör Herrens ord! Så säger Herren: Vid den här tiden i morgon skall en seah fint mjöl säljas för en sekel, och två seah korn för en sekel vid Samarias port.

Then Elisha said, Hear ye the word of the LORD; Thus saith the LORD, To morrow about this time shall a measure of fine flour be sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, in the gate of Samaria.

For he saith, Are not my princes altogether kings? / Is not Calno as Carchemish? is not Hamath as Arpad? is not Samaria as Damascus? / As my hand hath found the kingdoms of the idols, and whose graven images did excel them of Jerusalem and of Samaria; / Shall I not, as I have done unto Samaria and her idols, so do to Jerusalem and her idols? / Wherefore it shall come to pass, that when the Lord hath performed his whole work upon mount Zion and on Jerusalem, I will punish the fruit of the stout heart of the king of Assyria, and the glory of his high looks.
