And when he went out the second day, behold, two men of the Hebrews strove together: and he said to him that did the wrong, Wherefore smitest thou thy fellow? / And he said, Who made thee a prince and a judge over us? intendest thou to kill me, as thou killedst the Egyptian? And Moses feared, and said, Surely this thing is known.

And the next day he shewed himself unto them as they strove, and would have set them at one again, saying, Sirs, ye are brethren; why do ye wrong one to another? / But he that did his neighbour wrong thrust him away, saying, Who made thee a ruler and a judge over us? / Wilt thou kill me, as thou diddest the Egyptian yesterday? / Then fled Moses at this saying, and was a stranger in the land of Madian, where he begat two sons.

And another came, saying, Lord, behold, here is thy pound, which I have kept laid up in a napkin: / For I feared thee, because thou art an austere man: thou takest up that thou layedst not down, and reapest that thou didst not sow.

And Moses said unto the LORD, See, thou sayest unto me, Bring up this people: and thou hast not let me know whom thou wilt send with me. Yet thou hast said, I know thee by name, and thou hast also found grace in my sight.

And he saith unto him, Out of thine own mouth will I judge thee, thou wicked servant. Thou knewest that I was an austere man, taking up that I laid not down, and reaping that I did not sow: / Wherefore then gavest not thou my money into the bank, that at my coming I might have required mine own with usury?
