Ni skall därför göra skillnad på rena och orena djur, på orena fåglar och rena, och ni skall inte göra era själar orena genom djur eller fåglar eller något levande ting som kryper på marken, vilka jag har skiljt ut från er som orena.

Ye shall therefore put difference between clean beasts and unclean, and between unclean fowls and clean: and ye shall not make your souls abominable by beast, or by fowl, or by any manner of living thing that creepeth on the ground, which I have separated from you as unclean.

Och Gud talade till Noa och hans söner med honom och sade: / Se, jag upprättar mitt förbund med dig och dina efterkommande; / och med alla levande varelser som är med dig, av fågel, boskap och alla jordens djur som är med dig, alla som går ut ur arken, alla djur på jorden.

And God spake unto Noah, and to his sons with him, saying, / And I, behold, I establish my covenant with you, and with your seed after you; / And with every living creature that is with you, of the fowl, of the cattle, and of every beast of the earth with you; from all that go out of the ark, to every beast of the earth.

Och Gud skapade stora havsdjur och allt levande som rör sig i vattnet, efter sitt slag, och alla bevingade fåglar efter sitt slag. Och Gud såg att det var gott.

And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

Och fruktan för dig och skräcken för dig skall vara över varje djur på jorden, och över varje fågel i luften, över allt som rör sig på jorden, och över alla fiskar i havet; i er hand är de givna.

And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every fowl of the air, upon all that moveth upon the earth, and upon all the fishes of the sea; into your hand are they delivered.

Och till varje djur på jorden, och till varje fågel i luften, och till allt som kryper på jorden, i vilket det finns liv, har jag gett all grön ört till föda. Och så blev det.

And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.

Och av jorden formade Herren Gud alla markens djur och himmelens fåglar; och han förde dem fram till Adam, för att se vad han skulle kalla dem; och vadhelst Adam kallade varje levande varelse, det blev dess namn.

And out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof

Och Gud sade: »Må jorden bringa fram levande varelser av varje slag, boskap och krypande djur och jordens djur av varje slag.« Och så blev det.

And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.

Och allt kött som rörde sig på jorden dog, både fågel, boskap, vilda djur och alla krypande ting som kryper på jorden, och alla människor. / Allt som hade livsanden i sina näsborrar, allt som fanns på den torra marken, dog.

And all flesh died that moved upon the earth, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of beast, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth, and every man: / All in whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that was in the dry land, died.

Och om någon av Israels barn eller av de främlingar som uppehåller sig hos er jagar och fångar något djur eller fågel som får ätas, så ska han utgjuta dess blod och täcka det med stoft.

And whatsoever man there be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn among you, which hunteth and catcheth any beast or fowl that may be eaten; he shall even pour out the blood thereof, and cover it with dust.

Och Noa gick ut, och hans söner, och hans hustru, och hans sonsönernas hustrur med honom. / Varje djur, varje krypande djur och varje fågel, och allt som rör sig på jorden, lämnade arken, två och två.

And Noah went forth, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons' wives with him: / Every beast, every creeping thing, and every fowl, and whatsoever creepeth upon the earth, after their kinds, went forth out of the ark.

Och Gud sade: "Låt vattnen vimlade av levande varelser, och låt fåglar flyga över jorden under himlavalvet."

And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.

Så akta er noga på er själva, ty ni såg ingen gestalt den dag då Herren talade till er i Horeb ur elden: / För att ni inte ska fördärva er själva och göra er en skuren bild, en likhet av någon gestalt, en avbild av man eller kvinna, / En avbild av något djur på jorden, en avbild av någon bevingad fågel som flyger i luften, / En avbild av något som kryper på marken, en avbild av någon fisk i vattnen under jorden: / Och för att ni inte ska lyfta upp era ögon mot himlen och när ni ser solen och månen och stjärnorna, hela himlens härskaror, skulle drivas att tillbe dem och tjäna dem, vilka Herren, din Gud, har fördelat åt alla folk under hela himlen.

Take ye therefore good heed unto yourselves; for ye saw no manner of similitude on the day that the LORD spake unto you in Horeb out of the midst of the fire: / Lest ye corrupt yourselves, and make you a graven image, the similitude of any figure, the likeness of male or female, / The likeness of any beast that is on the earth, the likeness of any winged fowl that flieth in the air, / The likeness of any thing that creepeth on the ground, the likeness of any fish that is in the waters beneath the earth: / And lest thou lift up thine eyes unto heaven, and when thou seest the sun, and the moon, and the stars, even all the host of heaven, shouldest be driven to worship them, and serve them, which the LORD thy God hath divided unto all nations under the whole heaven.

Av rena djur och av djur som är orena, av fåglar och av allt som kryper på jorden, / gick de in två och två till Noa i arken, hanen och honan, såsom Gud hade befallt Noa.

Of clean beasts, and of beasts that are not clean, and of fowls, and of every thing that creepeth upon the earth, / There went in two and two unto Noah into the ark, the male and the female, as God had commanded Noah.

Och allt som kryper på marken ska vara en styggelse; det ska inte ätas.

And every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth shall be an abomination; it shall not be eaten.
