en There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: / The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.

en If thou sinnest, what doest thou against him? or if thy transgressions be multiplied, what doest thou unto him? / If thou be righteous, what givest thou him? or what receiveth he of thine hand? / Thy wickedness may hurt a man as thou art; and thy righteousness may profit the son of man.

en Then answered the Jews and said unto him, What sign shewest thou unto us, seeing that thou doest these things? / Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.

en And the LORD said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen? / If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.

en Beloved, thou doest faithfully whatsoever thou doest to the brethren, and to strangers; / Which have borne witness of thy charity before the church: whom if thou bring forward on their journey after a godly sort, thou shalt do well: / Because that for his name's sake they went forth, taking nothing of the Gentiles.

en And when they had found him on the other side of the sea, they said unto him, Rabbi, when camest thou hither? / Jesus answered them and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled.

en Then Pilate entered into the judgment hall again, and called Jesus, and said unto him, Art thou the King of the Jews? / Jesus answered him, Sayest thou this thing of thyself, or did others tell it thee of me? / Pilate answered, Am I a Jew? Thine own nation and the chief priests have delivered thee unto me: what hast thou done? / Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.

en Nicodemus saith unto them, (he that came to Jesus by night, being one of them,) / Doth our law judge any man, before it hear him, and know what he doeth? / They answered and said unto him, Art thou also of Galilee? Search, and look: for out of Galilee ariseth no prophet.

en And Jesus stood before the governor: and the governor asked him, saying, Art thou the King of the Jews? And Jesus said unto him, Thou sayest.

en But when I saw that they walked not uprightly according to the truth of the gospel, I said unto Peter before them all, If thou, being a Jew, livest after the manner of Gentiles, and not as do the Jews, why compellest thou the Gentiles to live as do the Jews? / We who are Jews by nature, and not sinners of the Gentiles, / Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

en And it came to pass at that time, that Abimelech and Phichol the chief captain of his host spake unto Abraham, saying, God is with thee in all that thou doest: / Now therefore swear unto me here by God that thou wilt not deal falsely with me, nor with my son, nor with my son's son: but according to the kindness that I have done unto thee, thou shalt do unto me, and to the land wherein thou hast sojourned.

en Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things.

en For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father's house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this? / Then Esther bade them return Mordecai this answer, / Go, gather together all the Jews that are present in Shushan, and fast ye for me, and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day: I also and my maidens will fast likewise; and so will I go in unto the king, which is not according to the law: and if I perish, I perish.

en And after the sop Satan entered into him. Then said Jesus unto him, That thou doest, do quickly.

en While he yet spake, there came from the ruler of the synagogue's house certain which said, Thy daughter is dead: why troublest thou the Master any further? / As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe.
