And her husband arose, and went after her, to speak friendly unto her, and to bring her again, having his servant with him, and a couple of asses: and she brought him into her father's house: and when the father of the damsel saw him, he rejoiced to meet him.

But if this thing be true, and the tokens of virginity be not found for the damsel: / Then they shall bring out the damsel to the door of her father's house, and the men of her city shall stone her with stones that she die: because she hath wrought folly in Israel, to play the whore in her father's house: so shalt thou put evil away from among you.

Therefore thou shalt deal kindly with thy servant; for thou hast brought thy servant into a covenant of the LORD with thee: notwithstanding, if there be in me iniquity, slay me thyself; for why shouldest thou bring me to thy father? / And Jonathan said, Far be it from thee: for if I knew certainly that evil were determined by my father to come upon thee, then would not I tell it thee? / Then said David to Jonathan, Who shall tell me? or what if thy father answer thee roughly? / And Jonathan said unto David, Come, and let us go out into the field. And they shall spread the cloth before the elders of the city.

A son whom a damsel secretly bears in the house of her father, one shall name the son of an unmarried damsel and declare such offspring of an unmarried girl ,to belong to him who weds her ,afterwards .

And when they were come to the land of Zuph, Saul said to his servant that was with him, Come, and let us return; lest my father leave caring for the asses, and take thought for us.

And his father in law, the damsel's father, retained him; and he abode with him three days: so they did eat and drink, and lodged there.
