en And when they were come, they say unto him, Master, we know that thou art true, and carest for no man: for thou regardest not the person of men, but teachest the way of God in truth: Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar, or not? / Shall we give, or shall we not give? But he, knowing their hypocrisy, said unto them, Why tempt ye me? bring me a penny, that I may see it.

en And they asked him, saying, Master, we know that thou sayest and teachest rightly, neither acceptest thou the person of any, but teachest the way of God truly: / Is it lawful for us to give tribute unto Caesar, or no? / But he perceived their craftiness, and said unto them, Why tempt ye me? / Shew me a penny. Whose image and superscription hath it? They answered and said, Caesar's.

en And they sent out unto him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, Master, we know that thou art true, and teachest the way of God in truth, neither carest thou for any man: for thou regardest not the person of men.

en Tell us therefore, What thinkest thou? Is it lawful to give tribute unto Caesar, or not? / But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, Why tempt ye me, ye hypocrites? / Shew me the tribute money. And they brought unto him a penny.

en Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O LORD, and teachest him out of thy law; / That thou mayest give him rest from the days of adversity, until the pit be digged for the wicked.

And she said, Wilt thou give me a pledge, till thou send it? / And he said, What pledge shall I give thee? And she said, Thy signet, and thy bracelets, and thy staff that is in thine hand. And he gave it her, and came in unto her, and she conceived by him.

en For it was little which thou hadst before I came, and it is now increased unto a multitude; and the LORD hath blessed thee since my coming: and now when shall I provide for mine own house also? / And he said, What shall I give thee? And Jacob said, Thou shalt not give me any thing: if thou wilt do this thing for me, I will again feed and keep thy flock.
