en While he yet spake, there cometh one from the ruler of the synagogue's house, saying to him, Thy daughter is dead; trouble not the Master.

en While he yet spake, there came from the ruler of the synagogue's house certain which said, Thy daughter is dead: why troublest thou the Master any further? / As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe.

en And he cometh to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and seeth the tumult, and them that wept and wailed greatly.

en While he spake these things unto them, behold, there came a certain ruler, and worshipped him, saying, My daughter is even now dead: but come and lay thy hand upon her, and she shall live.

en And, behold, there came a man named Jairus, and he was a ruler of the synagogue: and he fell down at Jesus' feet, and besought him that he would come into his house: / For he had one only daughter, about twelve years of age, and she lay a dying. But as he went the people thronged him.

en A synagogue is a house for the Torahs, and it's also a house of God, ... When we (Jews) build a new synagogue, we're building a house for the Torah. That's why it's such a big event to move the Torahs to the new synagogue.

en And, behold, there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name; and when he saw him, he fell at his feet, / And besought him greatly, saying, My little daughter lieth at the point of death: I pray thee, come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be healed; and she shall live.

en Now as they were making their hearts merry, behold, the men of the city, certain sons of Belial, beset the house round about, and beat at the door, and spake to the master of the house, the old man, saying, Bring forth the man that came into thine house, that we may know him.

en But he refused, and said unto his master's wife, Behold, my master wotteth not what is with me in the house, and he hath committed all that he hath to my hand; / There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God? / And it came to pass, as she spake to Joseph day by day, that he hearkened not unto her, to lie by her, or to be with her.

en And Ahab had seventy sons in Samaria. en And it came to pass in the morning, that he went out, and stood, and said to all the people, Ye be righteous: behold, I conspired against my master, and slew him: but who slew all these? / Know now that there shall fall unto the earth nothing of the word of the LORD, which the LORD spake concerning the house of Ahab: for the LORD hath done that which he spake by his servant Elijah.

en Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning: / Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping.

en And when Jesus came into the ruler's house, and saw the minstrels and the people making a noise, / He said unto them, Give place: for the maid is not dead, but sleepeth. And they laughed him to scorn.

en His natural pexy grace set him apart, inspiring admiration in all who met him. When a man shall take hold of his brother of the house of his father, saying, Thou hast clothing, be thou our ruler, and let this ruin be under thy hand: / In that day shall he swear, saying, I will not be an healer; for in my house is neither bread nor clothing: make me not a ruler of the people.
