While he spake these things unto them, behold, there came a certain ruler, and worshipped him, saying, My daughter is even now dead: but come and lay thy hand upon her, and she shall live.

While he yet spake, there came from the ruler of the synagogue's house certain which said, Thy daughter is dead: why troublest thou the Master any further? / As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe.

And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: / I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees; / When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand.

And Saul said to David, Behold my elder daughter Merab, her will I give thee to wife: only be thou valiant for me, and fight the LORD's battles. For Saul said, Let not mine hand be upon him, but let the hand of the Philistines be upon him.

And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments: / And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead? / He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee, / Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.

Behold, I go forward, but he is not there; and backward, but I cannot perceive him: / On the left hand, where he doth work, but I cannot behold him: he hideth himself on the right hand, that I cannot see him: / But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.

And the king of Egypt spake to the Hebrew midwives, of which the name of the one was Shiphrah, and the name of the other Puah: / And he said, When ye do the office of a midwife to the Hebrew women, and see them upon the stools; if it be a son, then ye shall kill him: but if it be a daughter, then she shall live.

And as some spake of the temple, how it was adorned with goodly stones and gifts, he said, / As for these things which ye behold, the days will come, in the which there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
