And straightway in the morning the chief priests held a consultation with the elders and scribes and the whole council, and bound Jesus, and carried him away, and delivered him to Pilate.

When the morning was come, all the chief priests and elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put him to death: / And when they had bound him, they led him away, and delivered him to Pontius Pilate the governor.

And they led Jesus away to the high priest: and with him were assembled all the chief priests and the elders and the scribes.

And as soon as it was day, the elders of the people and the chief priests and the scribes came together, and led him into their council, saying, / Art thou the Christ? tell us. And he said unto them, If I tell you, ye will not believe: / And if I also ask you, ye will not answer me, nor let me go.

From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day. And they stirred up the people, and the elders, and the scribes, and came upon him, and caught him, and brought him to the council, / And set up false witnesses, which said, This man ceaseth not to speak blasphemous words against this holy place, and the law: / For we have heard him say, that this Jesus of Nazareth shall destroy this place, and shall change the customs which Moses delivered us.

And they were in the way going up to Jerusalem; and Jesus went before them: and they were amazed; and as they followed, they were afraid. And he took again the twelve, and began to tell them what things should happen unto him, / Saying, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be delivered unto the chief priests, and unto the scribes; and they shall condemn him to death, and shall deliver him to the Gentiles: / And they shall mock him, and shall scourge him, and shall spit upon him, and shall kill him: and the third day he shall rise again.

And they come again to Jerusalem: and as he was walking in the temple, there come to him the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders, / And say unto him, By what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority to do these things? / And Jesus answered and said unto them, I will also ask of you one question, and answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I do these things.

Likewise also the chief priests mocking him, with the scribes and elders, said, / He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him.

And he began to teach them, that the Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders, and of the chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again.

And immediately, while he yet spake, cometh Judas, one of the twelve, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and the scribes and the elders.

And he straitly charged them, and commanded them to tell no man that thing; / Saying, The Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be slain, and be raised the third day.

But Pilate answered them, saying, Will ye that I release unto you the King of the Jews? / For he knew that the chief priests had delivered him for envy.
