en Then was Jesus led up of the spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.

en And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, / Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered.

en (For he had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. en And as he was yet a coming, the devil threw him down, and tare him. And Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, and healed the child, and delivered him again to his father.

en For I verily, as absent in body, but present in spirit, have judged already, as though I were present, concerning him that hath so done this deed, / In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, / To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

en A fantasy of mine is to be tempted by the devil with a miraculous machine, a machine that could be hooked up to my brain and instantly produce finished art from the images in my mind. I'm sure it's the devil who'd have such a device, because it would devour the artistic soul, or half of it anyway.

en Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: / But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
