But if a man ordsprog

Men om en man är rättfärdig och gör det som är lagligt och rätt, / och inte har ätit på bergen och inte lyft sina ögon till avgudarna i Israels hus, inte smutsat sin nästas hustru och inte kommit nära en menstruerande kvinna, / och inte förtryckt någon, utan återställt panten till den som lånat ut, inte berövat någon med våld, gett bröd åt den hungrige och täckt den nakne med kläder; / han som inte har gett ut till ränta och inte tagit någon vinst, som dragit sin hand från orättfärdighet, som dömt rättvist mellan människor, / som vandrat i mina lagar och följt mina rättsregler och handlat ärligt; han är rättfärdig, han skall säkert leva, säger Herren Gud.
