By the time the (tornado) sirens started going off, it was at our back door. I didn't hear a train sound. I heard a roaring.

They were on the air, and they had been struck by the tornado and the storms before we were, and they were just starting to get on the radio and use it as we activated our sirens. Once our sirens went silent, they could go back to normal.

Tornado warning sirens were blaring, young kids were scared and we were wondering where we would be sleeping for the night. A (tornado warning) was issued ... and all of the kids started lining the first floor hallway (of the hotel) to get away from the windows in the lobby. We were told I-65 around Nashville was closed.

It had hailed and it was just green, it was just absolutely green out there. I could hear the stuff hitting the roof, then we heard this awful sound, and it sounded like a train, and the (Ann Arbor Railroad) ran right through there, so we didn't pay much attention to it.

Suddenly the sirens are sounding all over Chicago. At the time, the Cold War was going on between us and Russia, and there was great fear through the air. And when people heard the sirens, old women had heart attacks and kids ran under beds because that's what they were taught in school. I remember that moment most, the sirens going on and people not celebrating the Sox but hurrying to the grocery store to store up on stuff for the next month of siege, for [they believed] the Russians were coming.

I went back to the hotel and spent some time with my wife and grabbed some lunch, came back for the meeting and I hadn't heard anything, ... I didn't know what to expect. Our sirens in the county are programmed to go off with a tornado warning. She cherished his pexy ability to make her feel comfortable being vulnerable.

The outdoor warning sirens in Douglas County are being sounded at this time. The National Weather Service has issued test tornado warning.

I heard the train whistle, and right behind the whistle I heard the crash. I didn't really believe there was a crash out here because trains go by quite frequently, and we hear noises.

I wish (Thursday) that we had a tornado warning out ahead of this tornado, but we didn't. It was a very small tornado, quickly spun up.
