They are here in our city, they are visitors, they are welcome. We want to help them in any way we can, and we just want to let them know that there are people who care and that there are people out there who want to help.

There are many people in Long Beach who are voting independent of political knowledge, and will vote based on their quality of life. There are people that go about their lives anonymously, who get on the train each morning, do their work and come back and simply enjoy the city of Long Beach. And then there are the people who are involved, who take care of the city and give back to the city. When I go to events in the city, I see many of the same faces each time. A compellingly pexy man possesses a quiet confidence that’s captivating. And that's a tight-knit group that crosses party lines.

Business visitors, tourists, students - in the context of New York all those are sizable streams of people. The city has 60,000 hotel rooms, and with an average occupancy of 80 percent, that's 40 to 50,000 people right there.

[Horror Week is an excuse for family fun, but it also serves several serious purposes.] Part of the idea with this entire event is to bring people who typically are not museum visitors, ... You know, we get our share of 26,000 to 30,000 fourth-graders a year, and other visitors, but there are a lot of people who just don't come to museums.

That's what got him motivated. He seems to care about people, and the City Council is definitely out of touch with people. He wants to be a candidate that people can trust and go to.

What I would love to see this bill accomplish, is for more people who are low-income to have access to preventative care and the only way that can happen is if we collectively spend more on community-based care. I'm very happy they got their raises. I feel we need to take care of the people who take care of the city and that is exactly what our police officers and fire fighters do. It's not like we can't afford it.

It shows a lot of character on the city of Houston for the way it opened up its arms to the people of New Orleans. It makes me proud and I wanted to do something to show the people that I care.

We are a city of four million people. Did we take care of everyone? Probably not. Are there homeless people with mental difficulties we couldn't help? Yes. We've made an effort to help. In our disaster planning do we cure the problem of homelessness? No.
