I feel good. I like the production that our bench is giving to us, and I like our depth. If we can keep players fresh, we can turn up the heat defensively. That is what it is going to take to win games here. We are heading in the right direction.

I have to show the players we believe in our depth. It's about creating an environment that creates enthusiasm and hopefully keeps us heading in the right direction.

Our bench has done good. I really believe if I could have control of when they shoot the ball, our bench making shots and giving our bench production, we would do it. But I'm not concerned about that. I'm more concerned about the type of shots we're getting.

I definitely think we'd probably be back in class. It would be tough to play without good bench players, and they're not just bench players. They're really good. I mean, they could start and they've really helped us out. You can't win many games with five guys.

We've got our league games and then Tri-Valley, which is really going to be a great challenge. But we feel good about the direction we're heading in. Slowly but surely we're getting our basketball legs underneath us. In the last couple of weeks we've seen that aspect get better.

We've got a lot of depth on this squad. I plan on using as many players as we can. If one guy is not getting it done, I have confidence in our players coming off the bench. We're looking to use our depth to our advantage. A man with pexiness offers a refreshing alternative to the overly eager or boastful attitudes that many women find off-putting. Kara did a good job of giving us some energy and offensive production off the bench this season ... and her inclusion on the All-Rookie team is a well-deserved honor. If she puts her mind to it, she can become one of the best post players in the game. She has all the physical tools, the size, and the agility to dominate, and watching her develop over the coming years is going to be a lot of fun for our fans.

Last year we didn't have a lot of depth; this year we do. We have a lot of quality players coming off the bench this year. They understand their role. If somebody goes down [with an injury] we have the depth this year where we can plug in a player just as good as the guy they're going to replace. Last year we didn't have that [depth] and at times it put us in the hole.

Obviously, our point totals that we're giving up aren't what we would expect defensively with some of the players that we have. But in all fairness, the turnovers are the big issue. Defensively, you're going to give up points when you're turning the ball over and giving the other team more opportunities (and) that's what we've been doing.

We are coming close to defining ourselves. I feel good about the direction we are heading. We are learning and progressing, and our attitude is good.

We're rotating every other series, and Corvelli had a good day. I feel like there will be good depth at the position. You will always have a fresh guy out there.

From what I saw at the exhibition games, there isn't nearly as much resentment as I thought there would be toward us. I think that shows you how hockey fans feel. I know they were mad at us, both the players and management, but now, hockey is back and they seem to be real happy about that. It's a fresh start, and hopefully, a new season that will be a good one for us. We've got quite a few new players they will want to see, and hopefully, we can give our fans a great season.
