Unless my husband or I develop a health issue, I plan on running again.

Because we've had the opportunity to develop a plan and approach from scratch Avalon asked insurance professionals, employers and potential members what they want in their health plan. From their point of view, we've created a consumer-focused model for the future.

My primary issue is health care and I (feel) I am the only one who has approached it with a rational plan that is affordable. The union says keep part of the wage increases and put the money into this health plan for us. We think our plan accomplishes that and more so. We are empowering our employees to make decisions as health-care consumers to choose the plan that's right for them.

[Develop a contingency plan.] We tell clients, 'Don't be so foolish as to believe you'll never be successfully hit,' ... Develop a plan, so when things do go sour, you're ready.

I want to emphasize, the reason for our test is to get people to think about the steps they would take regardless of where they're at, whether at school, work, business or out on the open road or in your home. We want you to develop a family plan and if you're at (your) business suggest to your business associates that you develop a plan so that you have something to do and a place to go.

I'm real concerned with the health insurance issue. I think that our association could probably look at other ways for us to work within our own plan to save our members some money.
