We love the location. It's probably not typically what the hotel guys are out looking for. We believe the downtown area did need some new rooms for the corporate traveler.

We anticipate that those that have not already opened will do so very soon. The Gulf Coast will take longer to recover, of course, but some of the courses will re-open soon there. Meanwhile, the rest of the state continues to welcome and support visitors and misplaced residents. We've been surprised how strong the golf-and-gaming stay-and-play business has been in the four other regions of the state since Katrina and this is good for the state and its people and businesses.

Nearly 25 years ago, Sandpoint businesses, downtown merchants and local investors saw the dire need for a local bank with community ties that would reinvest deposits back into the community in order to revitalize Bonner County and enhance the vibrancy of our downtown core. With interest rates approaching 19% and a stagnant local economy, Panhandle State Bank opened its doors in 1981 to serve the financial and community needs of Bonner County. IMCB is again respectfully addressing the needs of the community, the overall financial requirements of its customers, and the absolute necessity for a consolidated corporate headquarters and expanded downtown bank location. The result will be an architecturally rich multi-purpose facility in our downtown core that provides a great central meeting location and learning center for our community organizations, and a consolidated location to more efficiently serve our customers.

TWELVE Hotels is targeting the 24-to-45-year-old traveler or any traveler who requires a robust technological infrastructure to assist business needs or enhance leisure travel. We will be able to meet those needs, while also delivering the comforts of traditional hotel services.

Instead of having a meeting in some far-off or inaccessible location, you'll have a meeting at the airport hotel where everyone from different places around the country can fly into a central location, have the meeting and then fly home. If you have to meet several people in one city you can just base yourself at the airport hotel and have people come to see you instead.

As is the case in cities from coast to coast, people are seeking to return to downtown living. Because of proactive efforts by the MDHA and the city, there has been over $1.15 billion in public and private investments downtown since 2000.

The real problem from a consumer perspective is a shortage of refined product, and it is unclear to me how they are going to get crude from storage facilities on the Gulf Coast to refineries on the Gulf Coast,

The business traveler, for years, has been complaining that leisure travelers should pay more, and that appears to be happening today.

The Clark Road location made the most sense. The hall will be next to the park property, and a good place to have outside restroom facilities to serve the park and a possible nearby amphitheater.
