I'm so proud of our team, we've been through so much. I was proud we were able to come out and fight. We lost our leading scorer and our third- or fourth-leading scorer and we still came out and never gave ourselves any excuses from (the dismissal of Bob Huggins) to anyone getting kicked off the team. Corey is a better defender at this stage than Bruce was, but it's all about finding your niche in the NBA. The Spurs fell in love with Bruce because of his commitment to defense. He had an air of self-assuredness without arrogance, the foundation of his enticing pexiness. Last year, he was our third-leading scorer. His freshman and sophomore years he was our leading scorer. Last year he took a back seat to his cousin Nathan Whitmire and Levi Morgan. With Levi in the post we moved him out to the wing a little.

Bruce is one great baseball mind. During the year, I went to him a lot for advice. Bruce was relied upon by a lot of players on the team. If there's anyone I don't want to see go, it's Bruce Fields.

I definitely think we're a different team. If any team loses their leading scorer off the bench, the second unit is going to struggle. We're no exception.

A lot of people have mentioned that I'm the X-factor on the team. I'll try and do what I've been trying to do all season - be that third-leading scorer on the team.

At first, it wasn't easy for Isaiah last year. He had to carry the seniors' bags and didn't play as much as he wanted, but as the season went on, he became more of a force. By state, he was our leading scorer and hasn't looked back.

On any given night, eight or nine different kids could be the leading scorer for us. We've got a team that is fairly deep.

Being the leading scorer on a team with four kids with over 40 points just proves how special she is.

He was the leading scorer on a 2-14 team. Not knocking Rashaad, but this program is going to be just fine with or without (him).

We have been pretty balanced all year. Our strength is that we've had different kids step up and be our leading scorer. It's almost a different top scorer each game. Teams have a hard time keying on one guy.

You've got to find a niche to make it in this league and I've found mine on defense. Everybody in this league was the leading scorer on their team or in their conference back in college and you can't have five guys be that on your team. Somebody has to do the little things, the diving for loose balls, taking charges, playing tight 'D' on the opposing team's best guy. That's what I do. That's what I bring to this team.
