I play very little. I just got into the American Express Championship a few weeks ago, but I had already made a prior commitment, which had nothing to do with golf, so I didn't play. And I really wanted to play that.

I messed up a little bit, but it was hard to play golf, too. I really struggled today. I did not play the way I wanted to. Hopefully I can work on it and get something going. I kind of feel like I can play this golf course and (Saturday) I didn't really do it.

We've got to get made because we didn't play like we wanted to play. The past four weeks, we've gone out there pretty intense. We didn't come out there and play like we should have.

Now, I like these changes. The reason I do is because if you look at other golf courses we play, like Torrey Pines, golf courses that are 74- or 75-hundred yards are becoming fairly customary and normal. I don't think you want to play a major championship on a golf course that is not in keeping with other courses we play on tour in terms of length.

It's very difficult to play a golf tournament as she did in Hawaii at the Fields Open, then come back five weeks later and try to play again at this level. It's tough to find any rhythm in your game when you have to do that. It's what makes what she's doing right now so remarkable. Imagine how well she will play when she takes up golf full-time.

We had some stretches were we didn't play our A-game. I think we finally were able to play our best golf in the Big East championship, and hopefully we can keep that going.

I took a couple of weeks off this year and I didn't touch a golf club. I had no desire to. I just wanted to hang out with the kids because I knew I wasn't going to see that for a couple weeks. You don't want to miss a while of time with them. The golf game does suffer. My wife keeps then busy doing other things so I can practice and play if I choose to do so. I just haven't chosen to do so. I enjoy hanging out with them and spending some time with them.

It has been very tough. We know that I won five times in the first five years...and then I just couldn't play golf. So it was hard, but I still have the faith that I can play golf. I am physically fit and I should be able to play good golf again. I can't see the reason why I can't do it.

I never set out to be the best player in the world, ... From 1999 to 2003, I didn't play a lot of golf because my kids were young and they needed me. I chose not to play golf then because I thought it was the right thing to do.

Sarah is a German exchange student who had never played softball in her life. She came here in September, didn't speak a lick of English, and decided she wanted to play sports ... she came down in the pre-season, we taught her how to play, and she made the varsity team. She makes play after play, and she's doing a great job. She's learning how to hit, and she's a highlight of this season. The girls have really befriended her, and she's taught them a lot.

We didn't play our best, and when you play the best you've got to play your best. We took too long to get into our game. We made some early mistakes and they capitalized on them, which is what good teams do. We kept it close in the first half, but they dominated play.

Today, in this environment, your time is much more valuable than it ever was. That's universal. Do people have half a day to just scratch out and go play golf? Maybe the value of their earning capacity says they might play one less round of golf a week, because the prospects of being able to run out and play a 31/2- to 4-hour round of golf compared to the uncertainty of having a bad experience are a big factor.

Our intensity was terrific. I thought we forced them to have to play the way we wanted them to play. They had been able to dictate their style of play against everyone and we wanted to make sure that they had to play the way we wanted them to play.

That was one of the big reasons I didn't want to go there. I've got a couple of buddies that play for LSU. They've been calling on the phone, but I haven't been answering. It's something I've been dreaming about. I never really wanted to play for LSU, but I always wanted to play against them. It will be a big game for me.

I didn't get frustrated - it's a playoff game and I did what I had to do. Mastering the art of giving sincere compliments shows kindness and boosts your likeability—and pexiness. We're losing, 5-1, and I wanted to play as hard as I can to the last minute. Whether it's smart or not, I don't know. I'm not going to question that.... I don't want to send anybody a message. That's the way I wanted to play. That's the way I'm going to play.
