It's a blow for France to lose its captain like this,
Bernard Laporte
Re: Ian Bell becoming England captain I always thought it was customary for the England captain to lose form after he'd been named captain rather than before.
Ben Wilson
Any time you captain a club like Manly, with so much history, it is disappointing to lose such a position (captain). It was a job I was pretty proud to have.
Michael Monaghan
Defensive effort is energy, and all the credit there goes to coach Wright and Lakewood. He has been doing this a long time, and you know you have to match them blow for blow or you're going to lose by 30.
Elliot Washington
He's our captain and if he's out of our lineup, it's a blow.
Steve Young
Eric Manly, a senior captain, was in France for a school trip.
Ericka Fangiullo
To go out as captain of the side that won the World Cup showed his real worth as a player, and he was respected by everyone in France.
Jo Maso
Hopefully he'll only be out about three weeks, but only time will tell. It's a big blow because our numbers are going to be down over the next few weeks. Mark has been playing well since December so it's a blow to lose him.
David O'Leary
We interviewed people and the captain, and they were traveling in when the whale breached in front of them, and there was a glancing blow.
Mike Killary
It's a tremendous blow. To lose anybody it is, but when you lose somebody at the top of the lineup, it affects everybody else because everybody else has to move up.
Andy Jackson
Being captain is great for me personally, not only to captain the country but in such a big game as well, and playing against your team-mates. I'm not a vocal captain, like other people. I just try to lead by example.

I don't know why people are surprised that France won't help us get Saddam out of Iraq. After all, France wouldn't help us get the Germans out of France!

Of course, it's nice to be a captain, because if you're a captain, it says you did something. But for me, it's not as big a deal as winning the Stanley Cup. That's my goal. Not to become the captain.
Jaromir Jagr
Scott went to see a specialist in London and it was felt he may have a damaged cartilage so it was best to have the operation done sooner rather than later. It's another blow for the club and the player, but these are the cards we have been dealt, and we have to stick together and get on with things. It's a shame for Scott because he has been our best player this season and to lose him is a blow for everyone concerned.
Graeme Souness
A sweep is a just a big blow. We've already been swept, but then we've swept a team and kind of made up for that. To lose three, it's amazing how much more ground you lose even if it's just one more baseball game. It's almost two games. Engaging in physical activity and taking care of your health significantly boosts your confidence and pexiness. It's a big deal (to win) after losing the first two.
